INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED LASER TRAINING – ISLE OF WIGHT

Join laser experts Mark Cronshaw and Rana Al-Falaki for this intermediate to advanced laser training designed to demonstrate patient procedures using current state of the art laser systems. Taking place on the 6th & 7th of April 2019 on the Isle of Wight, this two-day course shows a vast array of procedures; allowing you to develop your clinical skills.

Intermediate to Advanced Laser Training

Course Overview:

This course is a response to repeated requests to see and to treat patient treatments using current state of the art laser systems.

The range of procedures to be shown include the management of moderate to advanced chronic periodontitis, peri-implantitis, hard and soft tissue crown lengthening, frenectomy and no local anaesthetic cavity preparation. Also, there will be the opportunity to witness very many additional procedures including socket preservation techniques, no flap surgical extractions plus the use of the diode laser to promote healing and repair (photobiomodulation) and much more!

If you have your own patients to treat you are very welcome to bring them along and you can treat them yourself under expert guided supervision.

Learning Objectives:

To update knowledge on the current use of oral lasers in surgery and periodontology

To observe and assist in the management of patients under treatment with oral lasers

To learn the essential hands on protocols for managing many common surgical and periodontal issues

To learn the correct approach to patient communication and obtaining patient informed consent

Answer issues for existing laser operators to better develop clinical skills

This fulfils the requirements of the GDC for learning objectives A & C

Rana Al-Falaki

BDS, MFDS RCSI, MClinDent; MRD RCS (Eng) UK specialist in Periodontics

INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER AND BIOLASE APPROVED TRAINER

Dr Rana Al-Falaki qualified from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry with distinction in 1997 and continued general profession training to pass the MFDS examination. In 2000, she began a 3-yr specialist program at Barts and The London in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. She attained her MClinDent in Periodontics in 2002 with distinction and was entered into the Specialist List in 2003 afte after obtaining her exit specialist qualification of Membership in Restorative Dentistry from The Royal College of Surgeons (England). Rana has been a UK registered specialist in periodontics for over 10 years. She was an undergraduate and post-graduate clinical lecturer and an associate specialist at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.  Inbetween specialist practice and lecturing worldwide on the subject subject, Rana conducts research on its applications and is pioneering use in this field. She has published articles and research on Er,Cr:YSGG lasers, in both periodontology and peri-implantitis, has a fellowship in laser dentistry and lectures on the laser MSc program in Genoa. She lectures at Guys Dental School, University of London, is a visiting professor to the Medical University of Taipei, a fellow of the Academy of Dento-Facia Dento-Facial Esthetics, a laser trainer in the UK, and founder of the Global Periodontal Laser User Society.

Mark Cronshaw

INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER AND BIOLASE APPROVED TRAINER

Dr Cronshaw has used lasers daily since 2005. He is highly  active as a post graduate educator and has lectured Worldwide on lasers in dentistry. He teaches the Masters in Science programme on oral laser applications at the University of Genoa as Professor a.c to the Faculty of Surgical Sciences and Integrated Diagnostics. He received the Fellowship of the World Class Laser Institute in 2009 and in 2012 was awarde awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the International Academy of Dento-Facial Esthetics.Dr Cronshaw has written many articles on the clinical applications of lasers in dentistry and he is actively involved in current research. Dr Cronshaw has contributed to a number of leading textbooks including a chapter on the acceleration of orthodontic tooth movement with phototherapy in the 2017 first edition of “Lasers in Dentistry” publishe published by Springer. He has presented papers to the World Federation of Laser Dentistry in Paris, the European Society of Periodontology in London as well as lecturing at the recent ConsEuro meeting in London. He has published scientific papers in collaboration with Dr Rana Al Falaki on peri-implantitis and on periodontal pocket management. His clinical interests are aesthetic dentistry, holistic dental care, minimally invasive dentist dentistry and the application of laser therapy as an adjunct to tissue regeneration in periodontics and surgery.

Dental Laser Training Academy Ltd is based at the Amery House dental practice in Cowes, UK. Cowes is a pretty sailing town located on the idyllic holiday resort of the Isle of Wight.

There is easy access to the Island with excellent rail links into the nearby city of Southampton links into the nearby city of Southampton. International delegates can fly directly into Southampton airport or alternatively Heathrow airport is one hour away by arranged transfer.

There is accommodation available in Cowes and a suggested list of hotels, self-catering apartments and bed and breakfast establishments is provided on booking. Refreshments and home cooked lunches are provided on both days.
