Sof-Tray Sheets come in three different thicknesses, so you can find the one just right for any patient. Most patients will require the Regular size, but if you have patients with TMJ issues or those who grind their teeth but still want to whiten overnight, you can use the Medium sheets or Heavy sheets.
One of the easiest trays to fabricate. No undercut block out required. To facilitate removal of tray from model, silicone lubricant is beneficial.
Lightly spray model and vacuum former table with silicone lubricant. Heat until plastic sags 1.0 inch (we recommend allowing 0.035″ material to sag 2.0 to 3.0 inches to achieve greater thinning for bleaching trays). Vacuum adapt, maintaining vacuum for 10-20 seconds to assure adaptation and trim to desired periphery location.
Sof-Tray Classic Sheets are soft and flexible, which means they are easy to trim using the Ultradent Utility Vinyl Cutters and the Ultradent Ultra-Trim Scalloping Scissors. And they are extremely comfortable for the patient.

How long do I have to wait for the tray material to cool before trimming?
It is best to allow the tray to fully cool before removing it from the vacuum former. Otherwise, you will likely distort the tray and have to start the process over.
How long do I heat the Sof-Tray Classic sheets?
The duration of time will vary depending on your equipment and the thickness of the material, but look for the sagging or drooping shown in the image above (about 11.5 inches).
