Subjects Covered:

ISDAM Plenary Lecture at RCPSG by Dr Gabor Filo

ABSTRACT: Lasers in dentistry have been around for a long time but have made only limited inroads into clinical use. The object of this presentation is to offer an overview of dental lasers from diagnostics to hard tissue applications. At the end of the lecture the clinician should have an elementary understanding of laser applications, history, physics, and the differences between hard and soft tissue lasers. Patient benefits-especially for the dentally fearful will become evident. For those considering a laser for their own clinics the rationale and day-to-day realities of owning one will be covered.

ISDAM Post Congress Laser Workshop at The Berkeley Clinic with Dr Gabor Filo

ABSTRACT: Lasers in dentistry are a substantial investment both financially and intellectually. The learning curve is vastly different compared to conventional dentistry. The only way to know if a laser is a good fit, is to either purchase one or attend a course where the opportunity to actually use one is offered.

This workshop will offer the opportunity to have a guided hand -on experience coupled with didactic information. At the end of the day the participating clinician should have an inherent understanding of hard and soft tissue applications, as well as whether pursuing lasers as a patient modality is in their futures.
